Brahms' first venture into the gypsy Hungarian style is a fiery one. Join us as we celebrate his masterful style, paired with Mozart’s elegant and witty piano quartet.

The four members of Zingarese 4 are currently pursuing their Masters at McGill. As winners of the Chamber Music Competition, they will perform in McGill’s Café-Concert, Musical Chairs Festival, and pursue a residency at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music. Teresa Wang has been the concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, McGill Symphony Orchestra and National Youth Orchestra of Canada. She has performed as a soloist with the Academy Chamber Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. Teresa received her Bachelor of Music at McGill’s Schulich School of Music with Outstanding Achievement in Violin. French-American violist Julien Altmann has performed extensively in California and France, as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral player. He is currently working towards his masters degree at the Mcgill Schulich School of Music in Montreal, having just finished his undergraduate degree at the Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA in Los Angeles. American cellist Leah Plave has performed throughout America and Eastern Europe, collaborating with the Taconic Chamber Players and Trio Solisti. She received her Bachelor of Music at Cincinnati Conservatory and the Franz Liszt Academy. As a Lincoln Center Stage artist, she will perform in a resident piano quintet onboard Holland America Line. As a solo pianist, Tong has performed with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and Red Deer Symphony Orchestra. She is the director of the arts organization “Zenkora Studios”, and is the recipient of the Alberta Foundation Grant and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for Performing Arts. Tong is also a Lincoln Center Stage artist. She obtained her Bachelor of Music at the New England Conservatory.
