L’Exquisite Corpse Video Project (ECVP) est une collaboration vidéo entre artistes de divers pays, inspirée de la méthode de création surréaliste du « cadavre exquis ». Initié en 2008 par l’artiste brésilienne Kika Nicolela, l’ECVP a bénéficié de la participation de plus de 100 artistes internationaux et a été présenté dans des musées, festivals et galeries à travers le monde.
Dans l’ECVP, les participant-e-s créent une vidéo d’une minute en réponse aux dernières 10 secondes de la vidéo de l’artiste précédent-e. Les visions de chacun-e se répondent et s’entremêlent dans le « corpus » final.
Dans le cadre de sa présentation au GIV, Kika projettera le dernier volume du projet, ECVP Volume 6 : Inter, ainsi que des extraits des volumes 1 (2008) et 4 (2014).

The Exquisite Corpse Video Project (ECVP) is a unique video collaboration among artists from all over the world, inspired by the Surrealist creation method, the “cadavre exquis”. Initiated in 2008 by the Brazilian artist Kika Nicolela, the ECVP has had the participation of over 100 international artists and it has been presented internationally in museums, festivals and art spaces.
In the ECVP, participants create a 1-minute video in response to the final ten seconds of the previous member’s work. In the end, everyone’s vision is threaded together into an instigating final “corpse”.
For the screening at GIV, Kika Nicolela will present the latest volume of the project, ECVP Volume 6: Inter, as well as excerpts of Volumes 1 (2008) and 4 (2014).
